We are seeking an experienced Cabinet Designer / Project Manager who combines technical expertise, organizational excellence, and outstanding client service. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and enjoys managing projects from design concept through final installation.
Position Overview
As a Cabinet Designer / Project Manager, you will be responsible for designing custom cabinetry, creating detailed shop drawings, managing project timelines, and serving as the key point of contact for clients and internal teams. You will use your expertise in cabinet design software (CAD, SketchUp, Mozaik) along with CRM and project management tools to ensure every project is executed on time, on budget, and to the highest standard of quality.
This role requires a strong understanding of cabinet construction methods, production workflows, and installation practices. Equally important is your ability to communicate effectively, build relationships with clients and colleagues, and deliver exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
Create and manage detailed cabinetry designs, shop drawings, and 3D renderings
Collaborate with clients, architects, and builders to ensure design intent and functionality
Translate design concepts into build-ready shop drawings and production documents
Manage project timelines, schedules, budgets, and materials
Oversee communication between clients, engineers, production teams, and installers
Maintain accurate project documentation in CRM systems and Excel
Anticipate and resolve design or production challenges before they impact schedules
Conduct client meetings, design presentations, and progress updates
Ensure smooth coordination from design approval through final installation
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years experience in custom cabinetry design and/or project management
Proficiency in CAD, SketchUp, Mozaik (or similar cabinet design software)
Strong skills in CRM platforms, Excel, and general project management tools
Deep working knowledge of cabinet construction, joinery, production, and installation methods
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with clients, trades, and team members
Strong problem-solving ability and adaptability in a dynamic environment
Requirements
Valid driver’s license and ability to attend on-site meetings in WNC as needed
