Ensures the organization's current and future HR requirements are met. Liaise with area managers to develop and implement HR strategies that are appropriate for their business needs and consistent with the organization's overall HR strategy. Effectively administers programs in accordance with established policies and procedures including EEO and ADA compliance. May be responsible for OSHA compliance and employee safety. This position leads a team of 3 Human Resource Generalists.LOCATIONThis role will be based on-site at our Asheville/Arden, NC facility and will over-see HR responsibilities at our Arden and Hendersonville, NC sites.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitors and implements HR policies and objectives.

Determines and recommends employee relation practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale.

Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting the Human Resources function (i.e. OSHA, EEO, ERISA, Wage & Hour).

Monitors exposure of the company.

Directs the participation of information requested or required for compliance. Approves all information submitted.

Acts as primary contact with labor counsel and outside government agencies.

Protects interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and government laws and regulations.

Approves recommendations for terminations.

Defines and executes all Human Resources programs. Provides necessary education and materials to line management and employees – workshops, manuals, employee handbooks, and standardized reports.

Monitors recruitment and onboarding process.

Ensures vacancies are filled in a timely manner and that employees are onboarded in a compliant manner. Provides for a positive new hire experience.

Keeps managers informed of significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of objectives, and those which are not being addressed adequately at the functional management level.

Demonstrates a commitment to customer service; anticipates, meets, and exceeds expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively; making customer issues a priority.

Exchanges knowledge and information with other facilities to ensure best practices are shared throughout the organization.

Ability to read, analyze, interpret and communicate regarding common scientific and/or technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

Ability to read, analyze, interpret and communicate regarding common scientific and/or technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages.

Ability to tailor advanced quality tools training to all levels of the organization.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Strong knowledge of global and regional logistics operations and industry.

Strong proficiency in determining logistics requirements to enable company’s business goals and objectives with ability to devise and implement strategy to achieve targets.

Strong financial and analytical ability. Proficiency in managing business analytics to determine optimum company footprint.

Strong knowledge of international direct and indirect taxes as well as global customs regimes.

Proven track record of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and management continuous productivity and cost reduction programs.

Strong and convincing communication skills.

Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or related field required; Master’s preferred.

At least 5-10+ years of HR related responsibilities, which includes some leadership capabilities, as this role will be over-seeing a team of HR Generalists.

Prior experience in manufacturing preferred.

Human Resources Management Certificate and/or PHR or SPHR desired.

Or a combination of education, experience and/or training.

  • Summary This position is located in Blue Ridge Parkway, in the Superintendent\'s Office. Responsibilities This position is duty stationed in Asheville, North Carolina at Park Headquarters and reports directly to the Blue Ridge Parkway Assistant Superintendent. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, developing, directing, and coordinating the safety and occupational health program for the Blue Ridge Parkway; in addition to providing safety program guidance and support to Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site, Andrew Johnson National Historic Site, and Guilford Courthouse National Military Park. The Safety and Occupational Health Manager is responsible for managing a complex safety and occupational health program that encompasses extensive park lands and operations, private concessions, administrative facilities, maintenance shops, and a variety of public visitor attractions and recreational activities. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. The Blue Ridge Parkway consistently is one of the most visited parks in the NPS system and because of its linear nature, it presents many unique changes. The Parkway is 469 miles long, spanning 2 states, crossing 29 different counties. There are 3 mountain ranges on the park with 16 peaks over 5,000 feet tall. The parkway consists of 26 tunnels, 91 historic building, 176 bridges, 381 overlooks and 910 maintained roadside vistas. Current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) must be well qualified for the position to receive consideration for special priority selection. Protective clothing and equipment is required. Incumbent also serves in a staff position in a heated/air-conditioned office setting. However, field work often occurs in rough terrain and under varying weather conditions. Work may be underground, may have exposure to high electrical energy and/or heights. Emergency operations may also require working in nighttime operations, in adverse terrain and all climatic conditions. The National Park Service has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
