Description Network TechnicianJob Summary:Robert Half is looking for a skilled and dedicated Network Technician to join our dynamic team. The Network Technician will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and maintaining our organization's network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:
Network Monitoring: Monitor network performance and availability using various network monitoring tools. Respond promptly to network alarms and incidents, ensuring timely resolution or escalation.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network-related issues, both proactively and reactively. Collaborate with other IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex network problems.
Incident Management: Document and track incidents, service requests, and resolutions in the ticketing system. Provide timely updates to stakeholders during incident resolution.
Maintenance and Upgrades: Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the health and stability of the network. Assist in planning and executing network upgrades and enhancements.
Communication: Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication and issue resolution.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, vendors, and service providers to ensure a cohesive and integrated network environment.
Requirements
Familiarity with Network Administration, Network Configuration, Routing and Switching, and Network Monitoring.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proficient in network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
Experience with Cisco or other networking equipment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a 24/7 environment and participate in on-call rotations.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNENT, CompTIA Network+, etc.) are a plus.
