Job Description:
We are currently seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Coffee Tour Guide to join our team. As a Coffee Tour Guide, you will lead groups of coffee lovers on engaging and informative tours throughout Asheville, offering insights into the city's coffee culture, history, and industry. You will be responsible for creating memorable experiences for our guests while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service. The walking tours usually run every Friday-Sunday(depending on bookings) from 10am-12:30ish.
Responsibilities:
Lead guided tours of Asheville's coffee scene, including visits to local roasters, cafes, and specialty shops.
Provide engaging commentary and insights into the history, production, and brewing methods of coffee.
Ensure the safety and comfort of tour participants throughout the duration of the tour.
Offer tastings and demonstrations of various coffee products and brewing techniques.
Answer questions and provide recommendations to tour participants based on their preferences and interests.
Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude while interacting with guests and fellow team members.
Assist with logistical tasks such as scheduling, reservations, and coordination of tour activities.
Qualifications:
Passion for coffee and a strong knowledge of coffee culture, including different roasting methods, brewing techniques, and coffee origins.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
Previous experience in hospitality, tourism, or customer service preferred.
Enthusiastic and outgoing personality with a genuine love for sharing knowledge and experiences with others.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as tours may be scheduled at various times.
Knowledge of the Asheville area and its local coffee scene is a plus.
Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
