About the Job
Previous line cooking experience is preferred for this location but exceptions may be made for candidates showing strong initiative and ability to learn quickly.
Responsibilities
● Food Preparation: Prepare ingredients for service, following all recipes, procedures, portioning, and plating standards
● Cooking: Cook and assemble menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff, ensuring high quality, accuracy, presentation, and speed
● Safety Standards: Adhere to all company, state, and federal Food Code Standards for food handling, personal hygiene, and sanitation practices
● Station Management: Keep your station cleaned and well-stocked during service and promptly alert a manager or support staff when items run low
● Training: Help train new kitchen staff as required
● Opening/Closing: Properly open and prepare your station for service; properly close your station and be ready to assist others in closing the kitchen
Qualifications
● Experience: at least one year line cooking experience is preferred
● Skills: familiarity with basic cooking and recipe instructions
● Communication: ability to communicate effectively with management and coworkers having various backgrounds and skill sets
● Team Player: Have a positive attitude, respect and kindness for all coworkers, and a willingness to support your fellow employees
● Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a standing position for 5+ hours next to hot equipment in a partially closed kitchen with extremely high-volume business
● Weekend availability is required for all staff
