Grey Eagle Taqueria n Asheville, NC is looking for one front of the house rockstar to join our 15 person strong team. We are located on 185 Clingman Avenue. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and engaged.Position OverviewFOH at The Grey Eagle Taqueria act as the face, voice and personality of the restaurant. They should be comfortable around people as genuine interactions make for a better experience. As primary phone answerer, FOH should act as the go-between, communicating 86’d items and ticket corrections. FOH should have a high attention to detail as they are responsible for managing the flow of cash throughout the shift.Summary of Position RequirementsCustomer Interactions A helpful and friendly demeanor goes the distance-happy customers mean returning customers. Knowledge of allergens and cross contamination Accurate use of the POS system, knowledge of the menu, and willingness to wear different hats are key aspects to this position. Ability to sell tickets and informing customers of any show details. Making sure to add customer information into the system Making sure to ID anyone that looks under 40 and serving one drink per person Handling Money FOH is responsible for starting the cash drawer and balancing the drawer throughout the shift Count everything twice FOH must enter all payouts, discounted meals and drinks (employee, AIR, Go Local, etc) FOH should make change when needed with management Cleanliness and Atmosphere FOH is responsible for the appearance of the dining room Wiping down tables and sweeping, as well as making sure the condiments are stocked and area is wiped down and tidy Check bathrooms to make sure TP and PT are stocked Keep an eye on bus tubs and take to the dish area when needed Keep an eye on the outdoor patio, making sure tables are clear and green cart is stocked Be sure to use your checklist opening/closing and during to ensure all tasks are completed Checking in and Signing for orders-be sure to go over each order before signing off Food Handling and Stocking FOH acts as expeditor, checking tickets against the food and taking food to customers Help out when needed-it’s everybody’s job to get the food out in a timely manner Sanitary food handling and waste disposal is very important Wash hands often and wear gloves when needed Throw out (or take home) anything that goes past date (7 days) Social Media Make a relevant post everyday on Instagram and FB Communicate with the chef about specials and what items we are low on Making signage for specials FOH Communication Utilize white board for items running low or 86’d items Communicate to management any equipment issue and ensure needed repairs Communicate with management when running low on items Attend staff meetings to stay informed with systems Make sure the next shift is aware of any needed pars, cleaning, specials, etc Job Requirements Friendly, courteous demeanor Experience in high-volume kitchen where quick movements and rush anticipation are the norm Must be 21 and capable of pouring alcoholic drinks. Strong multi-tasking abilities, FOH should be able to prioritize tasks without getting overwhelmed Intuitive understanding of communication Ability to show up to scheduled ships on time, rested and alert SerSafe certification preferred exposure to standards required Must possess ability to communicate and move efficiently as a team
