We are seeking an engaging, motivated and responsible server/bartender to join our amazing team. Wine Down on Main is a beloved European-style wine bar & bistro in the heart of downtown Brevard, which celebrates 10 years in March. It is often referred to as the ‘Cheers of Brevard,’ with our staff and loyal regulars enjoying a special relationship with each other over the years, so being a ‘people person’ is key.
Responsibilities include playing the dual role of server and bartender in our intimate space - opening bottles of wine, pouring wine and high-end craft beer in the appropriate glassware, taking food/drink orders, running food and drinks, clearing/wiping down tables, helping with dishwashing on very busy nights, plating desserts.
The ideal candidate will have serving/bartending experience in a bar and/or restaurant, solid knowledge of wine and craft beer (we have an extensive selection of both), be able to lift racks of plates and glasses to put in the dishwasher, and most importantly be able to engage with customers, make them feel welcome and assist with finding them a wine or beer to fit their taste.
Availability/scheduling is flexible, but our ideal candidate will be able to work 3 to 4 days a week, including rotating Friday evenings and Saturday. We are open 4-9 M-F and 2-9 on Saturday. Additional hours and upgraded pay are available for those wishing to run our small, simple kitchen 1 to 3 days a week, with a menu consisting of charcuterie boards, flatbreads, panini sandwiches, one soup of the day, and dessert.
