Hello,
I am looking for a kind, patient, companion to assist my adult son with his daily activities. He is in good health and physically active and likes to hike and go for long walks at the Arboretum and at local parks and the parkway, but also happy to spend time at home, listening to music and relaxing. He is non-verbal and needs a companion and supervision when he is at home. He does not drive and cannot be left alone.
His schedule is broken into 2 daily shifts:
8:30am-3:30 pm and 3:30 to 8:30pm
Ideally, you could do 2-3 shifts per week. The position pays $25/hour.
Overnight shifts are also available, which span from 8:30pm-8:30am and pay $80 per night. My son is typically asleep by 9pm and through the night.
We hire through an agency that requires that you be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma. You must be comfortable administering medication when necessary, upholding confidentiality, documenting progress on training, administering CPR/First Aid, transporting him by car, and light food preparation (usually just heating it and / or serving it to him).
The agency that we use requires that you have or obtain CPR/First Aid Certification, as well as Medication Administration training, and NCI training as your orientation. Training hours are paid for at $15/hour for the duration of the required trainings and any documented costs are reimbursed to you.
If you are interested in learning more, please tell me a little bit about yourself and we can find a time to connect.
Thank you,
Kathy
