Provide assistance for 2 elderly parents, one with advanced dementia. Provide overnight monitoring 8 PM to 6:30 AM three nights a week, Thurs. - Sat. Total of 31.5 hrs. ($10 an hr for the 31.5 hrs.) Caregiver would reside in large private bedroom, private bath, semi-private den type area. Caregiver will control thermostat for their area. Shared large kitchen, laundry room and garage. No charge for utilities or rent. Caregiver will need to purchase their own food for their own consumption. No pets. No smoking. No overnight guests. No loud music. Must keep living areas reasonably clean. Criminal and credit background checks will be required. 3 personal references and 3 work references are also required. The initial length of time would be for 6 months. The elderly woman being cared for may pass away before those 6 months are over. The caregiver is welcome to complete the 6 months as long as both parties feel cohabitation is working out. Though there will be no rent for the remainder of the 6 months, the caregiver will need to be able to start paying for their share of the utilities. (about $200 a month depending on the weather and water usage) If the person being cared for lives beyond 6 months then the arrangement will be extended at 3 month increments as long as both parties feel the arrangement is satisfactory.
A payroll service will be used to handle payroll taxes and workers comp. This means the caregiver will be required to give the payroll service their social security number.
