Private farm seeking a dependable and dedicated Farm Hand to join our team and care for a variety of animals, including goats, sheep, chickens, and four pyrenean mastiffs. The ideal candidate will have experience and comfort working with farm animals and a strong passion for animal care. This position requires both independent work and communication with the property manager to ensure the well-being of the animals and the maintenance of the farm.
Location: Hendersonville, Near where 74 meets 9.
SHIFT OPTIONS:
AM Shift: 7:45 AM - 12:30 PM
PM Shift: 3-6 PM or 2:30-5:30PM
RESPONSIBILITES:
Feeding, grooming and providing enrichment for goats, sheep, chickens, and dogs.
Daily cleaning and upkeep of barns and farm structures.
Moving animals between pastures and ensuring they are safely housed.
Logging animal activity, health, and behavior. Reporting any concerns or unusual findings to the property manager.
Occasional errands for animal supplies and transporting animals for veterinary care as needed.
Ability to work independently, while keeping the property manager informed of any changes, concerns, or needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity and comfort working with farm animals is a must. Ability to work outside in all forms of weather.
Reliable transportation required to commute to and from the property.
Preference given to candidates who live close to the property in case of emergencies.
Must be able to clearly communicate with the property manager regarding animal care and farm observations.
Integrity, honesty, and a strong love for animals are essential.
Keen eye for animal health, cleanliness, and farm conditions.
