Dirtcraft Organics is a regional soil blender and composter located in Marshall, NC with a focus on peat-free, sustainably sourced and certified organic products. We manufacture premium potting soils for farmers and gardeners throughout the Southeast. Our business is located on a diversified homestead approximately 30 minutes north of Asheville. We are a family-owned/operated business with a small & passionate team.
Job Description:
We are looking to fill full & part time positions. We are a small company with a dynamic work environment and strive to cross-train our team members in a variety of tasks and match responsibilities with candidates strengths. Primary tasks may include but not limited to:
Daily operation of soil mixing equipment and bagging assembly line.
Safe operation of wheel loader moving bulk ingredients and palletized products.
Warehouse material handling and loading/unloading trucks.
Order fulfillment, point of sale and communication with sales team.
Quality control: record keeping, attention to detail & implementing systems.
Delivery driving flatbed or gooseneck trailer to delivery soil to farmers throughout WNC.
Composting: processing, mixing recipes, water management, pile management and screening materials at our new compost facility.
Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe work environment.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidate has work experience in agriculture or light manufacturing.
Aptitude for organization, good communication, work ethic, and positive attitude.
Strong problem solving skills and ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
Experience safely operating heavy equipment including but not limited to tractor, loader or forklift, dump truck & towing trailers. Preference for proficiency driving manual.
Work Environment:
This a farm-based job and includes working in all conditions. Appropriate boots and rain gear are provided as well as respirator and other PPE & safety gear.
This work is physically demanding at times. Must be able to be on your feet throughout the day and lift and stack bags up to 50lbs regularly.

Compensation:
$19 to 22/hr per hour depending on experience.
This is a W-2 hourly position with 40hrs PTO starting after 60 days.
Unemployment, workers comp and end of season bonus.
We typically work 8 hour work days including 30 min paid lunch breaks.
This is a seasonal industry, hours may be reduced in the slow season (Aug-Nov).
