Helpmate, Inc., a domestic violence agency in Asheville, North Carolina, seeks an Associate Shelter Coordinator to assist in the oversight of the shelter program. The primary responsibilities of this position are to supervise part-time permanent and relief staff and provide support, service coordination and advocacy for survivors of domestic violence. Evening and weekend hours may be required, as well as responsibility for a rotating backup on-call shift at half the frequency of Program Coordinators. The Associate Shelter Coordinator joins the management team in a supportive position to the Shelter Coordinator. As such, the Associate Shelter Coordinators primary role is to assist the Shelter Coordinator with management tasks, quality assurance, as well as direct services. Strong communication, organizational, and management skills are required. The qualified candidate will have a bachelors degree or 2 years experience in the social work field. This position is a non-exempt position. Spanish fluency is desired and incentivized in pay. Diverse candidates encouraged to apply.
