The American Red Cross is hiring a team of Caseworkers in the Asheville region.
The Hurricane Helene Expanded Recovery Assistance (ERA) Caseworker reports to the ERA Supervisor and is responsible for delivery of all client service activities in the ERA program. The Caseworker is responsible for excellent casework service delivery and prioritizing services to the most vulnerable households. The Caseworker will coordinate closely with the Hurricane Helene Long-Term Recovery Operation, National Headquarters volunteers and employees, as well as partner agencies providing Disaster Case Management and social services to the impacted areas.
This is a work from home, hybrid position with the caseworker preferably living within 25 miles of one of the following areas impacted by Hurricane Helene in the state of North Carolina: Ashe, Watauga, Caldwell, Burke, Catawba, Mitchell, Avery, Yancey, Madison, McDowell, Buncombe, Henderson, Polk, Rutherford, Haywood, Transylvania, Swain, Macon Counties. Frequent travel in the areas impacted by the hurricane for meetings and other activities will be required. This is a full-time temporary position working 40 hours a week expected to last 6 to 9 months with the opportunity to extend based on business need. This position is not eligible for benefits.
