We are in search of a skilled carpenter and an apprentice to join our team.
New West Construction and Millwork is a residential carpentry company which specializes in finish carpentry, custom millwork and casework.
We currently have openings for experienced carpenters and apprentices. The ideal candidate would be a self -motivated, team player who genuinely cares about their craftsmanship. We take pride in having a clean and professional work environment. Work is typically in the Asheville area, there will be a few weeks per year of working at job sites 30-40 miles outside of Asheville. This is a great opportunity for long term work with a professional, fast paced, growing company that puts quality and craftsmanship first.
We offer weekly pay as a W-2 employee. We are looking to hire a full-time experienced carpenter. Apprentice at part-time or full time. We work Monday-Friday 8am-4pm. We take off most holidays and Employees will accumulate PTO after initial six month period.
We are a fun group! The crew is mostly young, energetic, and creative. We share a passion for woodworking, craft, the great outdoors, music, and good values. We have an atmosphere of comradery, focus, and pride in our work.
Experienced Carpenter should have full set of hand tools, battery tools, and some saws.
Apprentice will only need handtools.
Some examples of what you will be doing:
Experienced Carpenter
Leading a team in carrying out complete finish carpentry projects in high-end residential new construction
Custom millwork: Beams, feature walls, mantles, bunk beds, cabinetry
Installing interior Doors/ Pocket doors.
Building custom staircases and handrail systems in luxury mountain homes.
Occasional deck work/ punch out work/ siding.
Apprentice
Installing casements and trim.
Learning to use many specialized tools and carpentry techniques.
Working within a team to complete large projects
Learning the fundamentals of shop work, finish carpentry, and the building process.
Minimum Requirements Experienced Carpenter-
-5 Years Carpentry experience required.
-Must be able to pass a background check.
-Must have reliable transportation
-Must have excellent customer service skills.
-Must have resume and references
Minimum Requirement Apprentice –
-Must be able to pass background check
-Must have reliable transportation
-Must have resume and references
-Must be motivated and have a good attitude
Pay rate is based on experience.
