Woodworker/Cabinetmaker
Asheville Furniture Repair – West Asheville, NC
Asheville Furniture Repair is growing, and we’re looking for a skilled Woodworker/Cabinetmaker to join our team.
We specialize in repair, restoration, and creative transformation of furniture, which means no two weeks look the same. One day you might be re-gluing loose joints on a set of dining chairs, the next applying a faux-antique paint finish to a dresser, and the next fabricating a custom vanity from scratch. If you love variety, problem-solving, and hands-on craftsmanship, this role may be a perfect fit.
What You’ll Do
-Perform hands-on woodworking, repair, and restoration across a wide range of furniture styles and construction methods.-
-Apply and blend finishes (brushing, spraying, touch-ups, color matching).
-Manage the daily flow of the shop: keep projects on track, maintain tools, order supplies, and coordinate with our upholstery team and the owner.
-Help with estimates and occasional client interactions (pickups, deliveries, on-site work).
-Contribute ideas and solutions—your skills and creativity shape what comes next for our growing shop.
What We’re Looking For
-Woodworking/Cabinetmaking Experience – 3+ years minimum (cabinet shop or carpentry background ideal).
-Finishing Skills – brushing, spraying, and blending finish damage.
-Tool Proficiency & Safety – comfort with shop machinery (table saw, jointer/planer, routers, etc.).Project Management Mindset – organized, tidy, and able to keep multiple projects moving.
-Creative Problem-Solver – able to figure out mechanical puzzles, experiment, and adapt.
-Professionalism & Reliability – organized, friendly with clients, and rock-solid in showing up when expected.
This is not an entry-level position. You don’t need to be a master craftsperson, but you do need to bring solid skills, confidence, and a willingness to keep learning.
