Looking for a multi-talented individual to join our small team at The Valle Crucis Lavender House. This job is perfect for someone who enjoys working outside, loves flowers, wants to put some of their energy and creativity into a new business venture, and will not be going to school full time in the fall. Specific gardening and/or marketing experience is a plus!
We are a collaborative team and everyone does a little bit of everything. Management is hands-off and loves for employees to run with their ideas to make the business better.
Primary responsibilities:
Welcome guests and customers
Manage the retail environment
Process customer payments
Serve delicious coffee and tea drinks
Lead our core workshops (training provided)
Help maintain the grounds (gardening, weeding, light cleaning)
Qualities:
Flexibility, as each day is totally different (One day might be spent working on crafty labels for our homemade soy candles, another might be spent cleaning up tree limbs after a storm, and another might be spent working directly with customers all day.)
Enjoys working hard because it feels better than not working hard
Self-directed (good at finding things to do)
Reliable and communicative (do what you say youre going to do, or speak up about why youre not)
Harmonious, easy to get along with, possibly even fun to be around
