Bring your big ideas knowing you are safe to be who you are and speak up with concerns or questions and put your diverse talents and perspectives to use.The OpportunityAs the Global Sustainability Leader, you will be responsible for driving our company's sustainability strategy and initiatives, ensuring that we are operating in an environmentally and socially responsible manner while also driving business value. You will lead the development and implementation of our ESG roadmap, establish governance structures and processes to support sustainability initiatives, and define, track and report on key sustainability metrics across the enterprise. You will also play a critical role in developing and implementing our decarbonization strategy, engaging with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities to further reduce our carbon footprint, minimize our waste and drive to water positivity. As a member of our extended executive leadership team, you will champion sustainability efforts across the organization, advocating for sustainability policies and initiatives both internally and externally. Ultimately, you will be responsible for ensuring that our company remains a leader in sustainable business practices and that we are delivering value to all of our stakeholders, including our customers, employees, suppliers, and the communities in which we operate.The TeamAs part of BV Strategic Growth , you will have the opportunity to drive agility, innovation, and hold BV accountable as an organization to our commitment to transform and grow. Develop and implement the company's ESG roadmap and ensure alignment with business objectives, and provide strategic direction to the company on all sustainability issues.

Establish governance structures and processes to support sustainability initiatives and ensure accountability, and ensure that sustainability considerations are integrated into the company's decision-making processes and implemented at sector, regional and functional levels as appropriate.

Define and track key sustainability metrics across the enterprise, and report routinely on progress to internal and external stakeholders; build and manage a contemporary carbon impact tracking and sustainability reporting database to enable efficient assessment, reporting and updates to the corporate ESG plan and periodic reporting.

Lead the development and implementation of the company's decarbonization strategy, including setting targets, budgets and identifying opportunities to reduce carbon emissions, and engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with all relevant sustainability goals.

Coordinate the ESG strategy to integrate and link with the company's diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, including establishing goals and metrics to measure progress, and championing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the organization.

Engage with suppliers, clients, and communities impacted by the company's operations to ensure alignment with inter-dependent sustainability goals, and establish partnerships and collaborations to drive innovative and affordable sustainability outcomes.

Develop and oversee communications strategies to promote the company's sustainability efforts and report on progress, and ensure that the company's sustainability performance is effectively communicated to all internal and external stakeholders with a particular focus on how the employee can align and make a personal impact to their own and the company’s sustainability initiatives.

Establish Black & Veatch as a progressive thought leader and practitioner in how to achieve decarbonization, water and waste resiliency measures while driving business growth and operational efficiencies.

Monitor emerging sustainability trends, regulations and best practices to ensure the company remains a compliant leader in sustainable business practices, and continually evaluate and improve the company's sustainability strategy, targets and initiatives.

Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental science, business, or related field

Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including 5 years of experience in sustainability or corporate social responsibility, with a proven track record of driving sustainability outcomes in a large enterprise environment

Preferred Qualifications

Strong understanding of ESG issues and trends, including decarbonization, diversity, equity, and governance, and ability to navigate and address complex sustainability challenges

Customer and market understanding, and ability to align sustainability initiatives with business objectives and stakeholder needs

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization .

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and an adaptive mindset to drive innovation and continuous improvement

Ability to collaborate and influence across all levels of the organization, and to lead cross-functional teams to achieve sustainability goals.
