Description As an Internal Controls Testing Analyst, your role revolves around ensuring compliance with the Internal Controls Management Policy and Standard. This involves employing various assessment methods, including monitoring and testing. As an individual contributor, you will conduct independent testing and validation of controls, while also reviewing and challenging testing conducted in the First Line of Defense. Your primary focus is on maintaining the safety, compliance, and future growth potential of business activities.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Developing and enhancing an operational model for independent control activities in line with organizational standards.
Contributing to the technology risk/control framework and assessment program to align with industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes.
Managing IT risk advisory engagements, including meetings with control owners, conducting control tests, and analyzing results.
Creating and managing control evaluation coverage plans and metrics, including testing approaches and procedures.
Providing comprehensive review and challenge of control assessments.
Conducting risk-based testing activities to evaluate control design and effectiveness independently.
Identifying, aggregating, and communicating issues and control gaps to relevant stakeholders with meticulous attention to detail.
Effectively articulating results, conclusions, and memos of control testing activities to key stakeholders.
Demonstrating understanding of operational risk control testing methodologies and relevant regulatory and compliance standards.
Continuously developing expertise in control evaluation activities within the domain.
Contributing to ad-hoc assignments and special projects.
Executing control assessment activities, including reviewing and challenging controls testing.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the financial services industry, with at least 2 years in operational risk management, internal audit, or compliance roles focusing on internal control monitoring and testing.
Familiarity with Risk Control Self-Assessments (RCSA).
Understanding of IT Control Frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, NIST, and COSO.
Professional qualifications such as CPA, CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, etc., are advantageous.
Business knowledge of financial services and controls testing.
Understanding of Risk Management/Operational Risk Management and Internal Controls testing methodology.
Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity.
Proven track record of building strong relationships across various business functions.
