Category ManagerJob Reference Number: 17588Employment Type: Full-Time , RemoteSegment: Elior CorporateBrand: ENA CorporateThe Role at a glance:As the Category Manager you are responsible for the development and execution of category strategies while maintaining compliance to company policy and standards and mitigating all risk. You engage stakeholders across the company to collaboratively develop assigned categories through implementation of vendor contracts. Plays an active role in developing the category strategies. Leads the negotiation and management of national contracts for specific product lines. Identifies opportunities for reducing the total cost of product to the segments. Seeks input and direction as necessary from the Director of Category Management on purchasing strategies to be employed. Manages contracts and relationships with multiple manufacturers as delegated.Under general supervision, oversees and manages the entire sourcing process to solicit and analyze competitive proposals or bids, including RFP events, financial analysis, solicitation of input from stakeholders, and engagement of the program activation team for award and communication throughout the organization. Leads negotiation and management of national contracts for assigned categories and sub-categories as required.Remote position in the US with preference to be based in Eastern or Central US.What you'll be doing:

Continuous evaluation and improvement of procurement practices with expertise in sourcing for managed categories, budgeting and forecasting of supply chain revenue, analysis of spend to identify opportunities within non-contracted areas and ensuring a strategic sourcing process is fully implemented across all assigned categories.

Lead Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) events, including preparation of RFX documents, evaluation of bid responses, and pricing negotiations.

Collaborate with leaders across all levels of organizations to identify opportunities for collaborative development of products and/or services that yield cost savings and revenue generation.

Negotiate Supplier Agreements that deliver value to market segments, including best price, service, quality and conditions, while also aligning to the organizational goals.

Manage supplier relationships through recurring business reviews to ensure compliance with supply agreement terms and conditions and to strategize on new opportunities that deliver value to the organization.

Develop procurement programs that support Company’s corporate initiatives including Supplier Diversity and Sustainability goals.

Support each assigned operational market segment with cost reduction strategies; unit openings and closings; implementation of supply chain programs and resolution of program challenges.

Support integration of companies into the organization after acquisition.

Support program adoption and strategies to maximize purchasing compliance.

Support supplier scorecards as needed.

Support technology initiatives within the supply chain – e.g. RFP tools, P to P and contractual / vendor compliance.

Build and maintain strategic relationships with each assigned operational market segment for cost reduction; program implementation; and problem resolution.

What we're looking for:Must-haves:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience that provides knowledge and exposure to fundamental supply chain theories, principles, and concepts.

2-3 Years of experience as a category manager buying food or foodservice products.

Experience with supply chain procurement contracts.

Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Significant, broad knowledge and technical expertise in the managed categories to achieve results.

Understanding of commodity and market indices that drive the cost basis in the manufacture of category products managed by the position.

Understanding of contract terms, including but not limited to Insurance and Indemnification, termination clauses, audit provisions, and federal laws.

Significant knowledge of standard sourcing processes and techniques, development RFX documents and detailed scope of work generation to ensure an accurate bid response from qualified bidding parties.

Demonstrated ability to develop and nurture strong strategic supplier relationships that benefit the purchaser and the supplier.

Advanced skill level with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Travel not to exceed 10%.
