RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer in Charlotte, NC.
Key Tasks:
Cloud Software Engineer will define public cloud hosting patterns and processes for application delivery, including HA/DR, caching, data access, messaging, UI, API management, deployment, and security patterns to ensure operational resiliency at scale
Partner with business and technology teams to design and develop scalable and highly available cloud-native solutions for applications
As a Cloud Software Engineer, you will develop a repository of cloud native hosting design pattern diagrams and source code repos
Design and implement multi region public cloud Kubernetes clusters that are scalable, secure, and resilient
Present and educate software engineering leadership and teams on public cloud application design patterns
Display the highest level of personal integrity, initiative, and teaming abilities
Cloud Software Engineers define cloud resources using an infrastructure-as-code and GitOps based approach
Automate CI/CD processes for cloud native and container-based applications
Develop systems to automate cloud operations and application support tasks
Provide world-class support across cloud engineering, operations, and applications
Leverage tools such as JIRA and Confluence to track requirements and provide visibility into the development process
REQUIREMENTS:
BS/BA, (Education may be substituted for increased years in experience on a year-for-year basis)
Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT industry in relevant area, with at least 2 years of experience in public cloud (AWS preferred)
Java full stack experience with spring and angular
Deploying, managing, and monitoring applications in public cloud environments for serverless functions and Kubernetes (EKS preferred) microservices
Infrastructure as Code experience is required using technologies such as CloudFormation and CDK or equivalent technologies
Experience designing and supporting applications and platforms within public cloud environments
Ability to perform independent research on new cloud services and software engineering practices to improve internal processes
Development of security principles and controls for cloud native and Kubernetes based applications running in a regulated environment
Ability and experience automating common and repeatable tasks/processes using technologies such as Lambda, CloudWatch, EventBridge and other AWS technologies
