Firewall EngineerCharlotte, NCContract: 18 MonthsHybrid: 3 Days In, 2 Days RemoteTHIS ROLE DOESN'T SUPPORT C2CDescription Experience working with Fortinet firewall (Must Have) If they have experience working with Checkpoint Firewalls that would be a plus, but not as big Resource will be doing all of the Rule Base Designs (Stage/Implementation/Design) Experience working with a ticketing system; if Remedy/ServiceNow etc.) Resource will not be doing a lot of in-debt troubleshooting; as they will not be doing hardware upgrades If they have experience working with Palo/Alto or Juniper that would be a plus Certifications: Not a big need but a nice to have Will need for this resource to be able to hit the ground running, as they will be doing a lot of process requestsMUST – Candidate has to be a people person as they will be communicating on implementation dates etcThe areas of focus for the Firewall Infrastructure role includes design, engineering, and implementation of firewall service requests aligned to the delivery of infrastructure services. As a member of the Network Service Request Fulfillment team, the candidate should possess the ability to analyze and understand a variety of existing, and emerging, business/technical requirements.This position will interface directly with internal stakeholders and external suppliers/providers, architecture, product engineering, product management, and business management. At times, they may interface with various levels of management. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are a must. The candidate must be able to work on their own and successfully in team settings in various sizes and locations. Adherence and use of standards, product sets, templates, systems, and artifacts are important to the success of the individual, the department, and the firm at large.

Experience with Network Technologies Firewall (Fortinet and Checkpoint)

3-5 years of experience working in Network Services

Add, modify, delete Firewall rules, NAT rules and Object groups

Leadership: Self-starter, self-directed and shows initiative

Demonstrates ownership: Is accountable and can hold others accountable (professionally)

Organized and detail oriented

Strong technical acumen

Strong analytical skills

Understands network-based technologies and protocols; demonstrates competency (or capability to be successful) in the ability to translate business requirements into business solutions and successfully position with customers

Proven ability to manage short and long-term engagements with multiple project tracks and teams

Ability to interact with clients at all levels with capacity to manage and set client expectations

Firm understanding of IT Service Management processes and project management (i.e., ITIL and Agile)

Ability to manage client escalations and negotiate resolution

Industry Certifications in Fortinet NSE (1-8), Checkpoint CCTA, CCTE, CCSA, CCSE or equivalent experience

Industry Certification in Cisco CCNA, CCNP, and CCIE or equivalent experience

Skills in scripting; Python, Ansible, PowerShell

Automation Skills – Expect, Rancid, REST/SOAP

Experience working in an Agile environment

Experience in Networking-related disciplines within a design, implementation, or operations role

Relevant Industry certifications in Network Technologies

Experience of working within Financial services (Insurance, Banking, Investment banking)

Experience with other network technologies
