Internship - Controls Engineer

Ramboll is accepting applications for intern engineers at our office located in Charlotte, NC. Our new Engineer will be assigned a mentor who will guide them through project assignments and gain experience working in one or more practice areas such as PLC programming, SCADA development and Robotics.?If this sounds like you, or you’re curious to learn more, then this role could be the perfect opportunity. Join our Process Control & Data Solutions team as our new Engineer and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.Your new roleAs our new Engineer, you will work on a diverse set of controls, SCADA, robotics, and automation projects with our existing engineering team. You will be exposed to various controls and automation software packages and get hands-on experience with instrumentation and electrical hardware.Your key responsibilities will be:Gain real project experience alongside experienced engineersAssist in programming programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems utilizing industry leading softwareElectrical component testing and field troubleshooting. Participate in Client/Stakeholder interactions, with potential onsite occurrencesPlan Factory Accepting Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) protocols and troubleshoot control processesGain exposure to multiple manufacturing industriesYour new teamYou will be part of Process Controls & Data Solutions team that focuses on instrumentation, controls, SCADA, robotics, and automation group. We work with many industries including metals, aerospace, food & beverage, industrial water/wastewaster treatment, municipal water/wastewaster treatment. We work directly with our UL-listed panel shop and field technicians to support our endeavours for complete turn-key solutions for our clients. We will design, procure, fabricate, program, deliver, implement, and support any controls and automation projects throughout the US, and for some key overseas clients. For controls, our team supports Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley), Siemens, GE, Modicon and a few other PLC manufacturers. For HMI/SCADA, we support Rockwell Automation (Factory-Talk View ME/SE), Ignition Vison/Perspective, AVEVA (WonderWare) System Platform/InTouch, VTSCADA, GE iFix/Cimplicity, and a few others. For robotics, we support FANUC, KUKA, and a few others. As part of our team, you would have opportunity to gain exposure to all this software and equipment.[
