About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Financial Risk Officer reporting to the manager of Financial Forecast & Performance Management Oversight. This Lead Financial Risk Officer will play an important role in Wells Fargo’s risk management effort in meeting its responsibilities as a global, systemically important financial institution by contributing to the capital adequacy oversight responsibilities of Finance Risk Management (“FRM”). This position will be a part of the Financial Forecast and Performance Management Oversight (“FFPMO”) team providing oversight of Capital Allocations and Funds Transfer Pricing (“CAFTP”). Perform independent analysis and credible challenge of capital allocations, including annual line-of-business static targets set by Treasury and quarterly monitoring of capital consumption relative to these targets in consultation with the Capital Adequacy Risk Oversight team

Lead financial forecast oversight efforts (e.g., monthly and quarterly forecasting, CCAR) related to the balance sheet and NII, including monitoring, analysis, and research related to forecast drivers, trends, risks, and opportunities and other ad hoc analysis, as requested

Prepare reporting describing the results of oversight activities, new and/or emerging risks, and recommendations made to senior management, including Capital Allocations and Funds Transfer Pricing Council (CAFCo) and standard monthly FRM reporting

Conduct FFPMO’s assessment of the CAFTP Annual Review performed by Capital Management to ensure that key CAFTP Framework methodologies, assumptions, and overlays are updated annually or as necessary and prepare related reporting for the Capital Allocations and Funds Transfer Pricing Council (CAFCo)

Conduct FFPMO’s annual independent SR 16-3 compliance assessment and prepare related reporting for CAFCo

Serve as liaison to Model Risk Management on CAFTP-related models, providing input on model use, performance, and reviews/validations as needed

Develop and maintain detailed procedures for monitoring and oversight activities and associated reporting

Help maintain good relationships across the Wells Fargo enterprise, including the front line, audit, and regulators

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of Financial Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

A BA/BS degree, preferably in a finance-related discipline

MBA, CFA or equivalent professional certification

Risk management, finance, capital markets experience or equivalent

Sound knowledge of banking products/services and financial markets, including capital and Funds Transfer Pricing in a banking context and related key concepts (e.g., components of the capital stack, Cost of Funds)

Experience with Essbase/FAST, Dodeca, EPM, QRM, or related models and management reporting tools

Ability to work independently, identify concerns, and appropriately challenge as needed

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Advanced analytical skills, particularly around financial results, variances, and drivers

Knowledge of and working ability with the MS Office suite including Excel and PowerPoint

Ability to query, manipulate, and analyze financial data using Microsoft Excel

Treasury/funding/asset liability management or financial performance analysis experience in either a direct or support capacity

Knowledge of Wells Fargo’s Capital Allocations and Funds Transfer Pricing framework, principles, and mechanics

Knowledge of SR 16-3 requirements

Familiarity with the range and complexity of Wells Fargo’s businesses and balance sheet

Pay RangeReflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location.
