About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our Technology organization and be part of our Chief Technology Office (CTO). Learn more about the career areas and business divisions at wellsfargojobs.com .You will be a hands-on Cloud Observability expert and be part of our innovation at an enterprise scale to transform Telemetry, Monitoring and Observability for Kubernetes and extending to monitor cloud service platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform and VMWare TAS (Cloud Foundry), TKGI and any cloud hosted application or infrastructure that generates Prometheus or streams OpenTelemetry metrics. Our vision is to deliver observability capabilities to customers for consumer grade insight at competitive price utilizing open source and open standards, while modernizing to reduce cost of failure, improve availability, and optimize software engineering capacity.In this role, you will:

Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact

Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines

Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs

Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors

Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives

Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals

Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization

Lead projects, or serve as a peer mentor

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

3+ years of cloud observability architecture and engineering experience with Kubernetes on Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Amazon Web Services (AWS)

3+ years of experience with one of the modern programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, or PowerShell

3+ years of Prometheus or OpenTelemetry experience

Desired Qualifications:

Experience in working with Terraform or Ansible

Experience of modern software development lifecycle, including Test Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD), Build Testing and Automation, and DevOps

Kubernetes Cloud Native Associate (KCNA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) certifications

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Job Expectations:

Pay RangeReflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location.
