A production support specialist has to co-ordinate effectively with all the support groups and sub-systems to ensure prompt evaluation of a situation, and efficient resolution in a production Hadoop environment.
Production support specialist must perform initial triage, identify immediate solution and permanent fix based on the root cause analysis. Must have experience dealing with complex inquiries raised by customers in a large, multi-tenant, Hadoop environment.
Understand, monitor and evaluate production Hadoop job streams in support of Operations
Monitor & Evaluate Hadoop Platform health & alerts; Ensure the Hadoop Platform & Services 100% availability
Work well with the Application customer groups, educate the customers and proactively manage expectations
Gather information related to issues or situations, do research and identify the root cause
Provide immediate solutions as well as permanent preventative measures to ensure zero re-occurrence of the issues at hand
Ability to perform data analysis, profiling and answer customer's inquiries
Ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks in high pressure situations
Ability to effectively communicate status of issues and areas of opportunity for process/system improvements
Required Skills
3-6 yrs of Hadoop experience and troubleshooting in Production support capacity; Experience on L1,& L3 level support is a must.
Self-Motivated; ability to multi-task efficiently
strong communication skills, backed up with strong technical knowledge about relational databases and data warehousing
strong Hadoop Application and Platform Support experience, hands-on experience with all the entire suite of tools/services in the Cloudera distribution of Hadoop
Should have detailed architecture understanding of Hadoop ; Hadoop Admin experience is a plus here
strong experience in Spark data analysis & support is preferred
strong SQL skills
ETL tools: Syncsort dmx-h ETL job development or L3 support experience on Hadoop Platform
Job Scheduling tools : Autosys
BI tools is a plus: Tableau
