Join our neighborhood bodega, where we provide a friendly and convenient shopping experience for our community. As a team member, you'll assist with stocking shelves, handling the register, preparing deli items (if applicable), and ensuring the store stays clean and organized. A Shift Leader plays a crucial role in the daily operations of our retail environment, ensuring that all team members are motivated and engaged while delivering exceptional customer service. This position involves overseeing store activities, managing staff, and driving sales performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a keen understanding of retail management principles.

Responsibilities

Lead and motivate the team to achieve sales targets and maintain high standards of customer service.

Manage daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory management.

Utilize POS systems effectively to process transactions and manage cash registers.

Implement retail math strategies to analyze sales data and optimize budgeting practices.

Train new employees on company policies, procedures, and best practices in customer engagement.

Ensure compliance with company standards regarding merchandising, cleanliness, and safety protocols.

Monitor employee performance and provide constructive feedback to foster professional development.

Collaborate with upper management to develop strategies that enhance market presence and drive sales growth.

Requirements:

Proven experience in retail management or a similar leadership role.

Strong understanding of sales management principles and retail math.

Proficiency in using cash registers and POS systems.

Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage a diverse team.

A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making within a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

$15-$16 per hour + Tips (+$5-$10 per hour average)

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week

Shifts:

Tuesday - Thursday: 3pm to 10:15pm

Friday - Saturday: 3pm to 11:15pm

Occasional Sundays 1pm - 7pm w/ an additional day off if requested
