We are looking for a sitter for my dad 20-24 hours per week. My wife and I both work from home but need some extra help.
Dad is 88 and blind. He's funny and loves to talk, listen to books and a little TV. He's cognitively sound but a mild stroke left him with no sense of direction which means he needs help with daily activities and escorting to the bathroom, shower and kitchen. Plus he's 88 and moves super slow!
Here are the duties:
Heat up lunch
Assist with meds (he takes them but you have to give them to him)
Assist with shower (he can shower himself but needs helping getting there, drying off and getting dressed)
Occasional help in the bathroom
Making his bed and straightening his room
50% of your time will be spent sitting so if you have studying or enjoy reading, you'll have plenty of time.
Schedule:
Mon-Thur. 12-4 PM and two Saturdays a month from 1-9 PM.
We pay cash or Venmo. We don't provide benefits or tax documentation. We'll leave that up to you. ;-)
