Assistant Field Technician
Job Description:
We are a locally owned construction company that specializes in exteriors (siding, roofing, etc). We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Field Technician. The Assistant Field Technician will play a crucial role in supporting our field operations, working alongside experienced technicians to ensure the successful completion of various residential exterior projects.
The field tasks include, but are not limited to: delivering material to job sites, providing final touch-up on projects, enforcing safety regulations, monitoring installations, etc. We provide a cell phone, training, and all tools.
Technical Skills (Desired):
Carpentry Skills: Must be proficient in using hand and power tools for cutting, shaping, and assembling wood and other materials.
Measurement Skills: Must have accurate measurement and layout skills to ensure precision on projects.
Blueprint Reading: Must be able to interpret and work from construction drawings and blueprints.
Safety Awareness: Must have knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Communication Skills: Must be able to collaborate with internal team effectively. Must be able to interact with clients, architects, and other counterparts to understand project requirements and provide updates.
Critical Thinking/Problem-Solving Skills: Must be able to adapt to unforeseen challenges, adapt and find practical solutions by identifying and solving problems on projects.
Time Management: Must have ability to manage time effectively for self and others to meet project deadlines. This includes planning and organizing tasks efficiently.
Attention to Detail: Must ensure quality of work for projects meets standards established by us and clients.
Customer Service: Must be able to understand and meet client expectations while addressing concerns professionally.
Mathematical Skills: Must be proficient in basic mathematical calculations for measuring, cutting, and estimating material.
Other Skills (Desired):
Experienced working with Siding, Roofing
Must be able to properly setup ladder(s) and be comfortable with heights
Ability to lift and/or move heavy items
Must be able to perform basic repairs
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
Must be comfortable using technology (i.e.: smart phone, tablet, computer, etc.)
Bonus Skills (Optional):
Bi-lingual in Spanish
Requirements:
Must have a clean driving record
Must be able to work Mon. – Fri. 7:30 to 4:30
Must write, speak and understand English
Job Information and Compensation:
Job Type: Full-time
Rate: $15 - $17 per hour
Benefits: Paid Time Off
Schedule: 40 hours/week
