Block Machine Operator

Job description Responsibilities:

Primary functions are to safely and efficiently operate the Block Machine, Unloader / Loader Stacker as well as Rack Conveyor. Must exhibit leadership with following all safety protocols, set the example with housekeeping and can perform all tasks with no supervision.

▪ Follow all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures.

▪ Perform all servicing / maintenance of equipment; will assist the Production Supervisor in assessing and developing a plan of action concerning major problems.

▪ Perform daily pre-and-post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.

▪ Assist the Production Supervisor in developing Best Management Practices for and train others in proper housekeeping techniques for all equipment and areas.

▪ Ability to read and comprehend job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements

▪ Ability to set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or templates

▪ Visually and Audibly observes machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction

▪ Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance assuring product meets quality requirements

▪ Change molds as needed to produce different types of product as needed

▪ Ability to troubleshoot block equipment and repair

▪ Train all other operators with set up and any other necessary tasks to adhere to deadlines and completion of product

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications:

▪ 6 years related experience and or/training.

▪ Ability to perform all required services.

▪ Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently under a variety of working conditions.

▪ Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

▪ Excellent verbal, written and comprehension communication skills.

▪ Ability to operate heavy and complex equipment requiring skill and the exercise of independent judgment.

▪ Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in daily operations.

▪ Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to equipment operations

▪ Ability to work near, around or on light or heavy equipment

▪ Self-motivated, organized and can work without direct supervision.

▪ Maintain a high level of accuracy in all aspects of work assignments

▪ Good safety and driving record required.

▪ Willingness and ability to do heavy labor and work outside in all weather.

▪ Willingness and knowledge to make quality repairs as needed.

▪ Must have knowledge to make safe repairs on Electrical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.

▪ Willingness to work overtime, nights and weekends as required.

▪ Compliance with all OSHA regulations.

▪ Forklift Certified.

▪ Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude that fosters effective relationships

▪ Knowledge of product specifications and requirements.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position will serve as the Crew Leader/Supervisor in the absence of the Production Supervisor.

Work Environment:

Work in a plant environment, working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

▪ Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, the ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors

▪ Lift objects of various dimensions and up to 70 lbs. of weight frequently

▪ Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects

▪ Ability to repeatedly walk on uneven surfaces

▪ Ability to use vibration tools repeatedly

▪ Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions.

▪ Ability to repeatedly reach, squat and tolerate prolonged standing / walking / sitting

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday. Occasional early morning, evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 50 per week
