Hi. I am looking for a personal business assistant to help me manage all aspects of my two creative areas of business: ART and FILM PRODUCTION. This job is IN-PERSON in my home production office and art studio, located in Charlotte, NC. This is NOT a remote position. It will become a combination in-person and remote depending on the work and my travel.
ART - I'm an artist and make large scale mixed media 3D painting. I travel to art fairs around the country, at least once a month. I sale my work at the art fairs and online thru my two webpages.
FILM PRODUCTION - I've worked in TV and film for 30 years and now I'm working on the development and production of my very first independent documentary and fiction film to be shot this year.
Both areas are growing and I need help organizing and managing every aspect of my business. From sending and managing emails to sorting out new orders. From doing research online to booking my hotel stays. From organizing zoom meetings to shipping a painting UPS . Once you learn, you will book the art fairs I attend, the hotels, etc. Help me search, organize and run interviews when looking for specific workers for art projects or crews for video production, etc.
You don't need previous experience in the fields of art or film production, but if you have a passion for it or practice any art, that's a big plus. Each area may have some unique aspects that you'll learn along the way, but in general, they both require two main things: extreme organization and basic common sense. Important. I'm only familiar with everything Apple, and unfortunately not with Windows, so you need to know Apple well. Windows is a plus.
REQUIREMENTS. These are a must.
- A 4 year Bachelor's degree in any field, or 10+ years of real work experience in any area.
- Extremely organize a must.
- Extensive experience with the main office productivity apps and platforms like Microsoft Office, Google docs, Zoom, etc.
- Experience with social media & posting: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc. The more experience you have in this area managing, etc, the further you're up the line.
- Ability to handle yourself with confidence in zoom meetings as well as super confortable in an art or film social event talking about what we do.
- Experience surfing the web for research purposes.
- Passion and open to learning new things every day.
THE PLUS LIST. These are not requirements, but big advantage, specially a second language.
- Fluency in ANY language besides English. This will always the tiebreaker.
- Ability to travel outside NC when necessary, to assist with film productions or art events. No longer than 3-4 days.
- Some experience or knowledge in the world of art, film, video production, entertainment, etc.
- Knowledge of music: artists, new and old, bands, awards, 70's, 80's, 90's, music festivals in the US, etc
- Any hobby at all.
