What is Timber Ridge?
Timber Ridge is a wilderness treatment center, designed to provide a 12-18 month program that rehabilitates at-risk boys between the ages of 12 and 17. We are located near the Uwharrie National Forest about 15 miles south of Salisbury, North Carolina. The large cities of Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and Charlotte are all within a 45-minute drive as well.
What is a Night Group Leader?
We currently have openings for our third shift, overnight security position. As a Night Group Leader you would supervise one of our groups of residents while they sleep. These boys are all here to receive help for whatever emotional or behavioral problems they've had in their lives. They receive treatment primarily through the group living process, but also meet monthly with licensed counselors who help them resolve their familial issues. Night Group Leaders do not have much interaction with the residents, as they are asleep for your shift. If a resident wakes up and has a problem, our staff that work during the day are also sleeping at the campsite and will help with any situation.
What's the schedule?
Night Group Leaders work five nights per week, from 10pm to 7:15am. Overtime is available as needed. You typically work four shifts in a row, then have off two to three nights, then work another four nights. There is some variation, so we ask that you be flexible and able to work weekend nights as well as weekday nights.
What is the benefit package?
Night Group Leaders earn 9.50 per hour, and 14.25 for any hours overtime hours (more than 40 per week). In addition you earn:
- 10 vacation days per year (which do rollover from year to year, and may be cashed in if you don't want to use them)
- 12 sick days per year (which also accrue, but cannot be resold)
- BCBS health insurance for $100/month (we cover the other $350); dental insurance for $32/mo
- access to our 401(k) plan after a year of employment
- 5% raise annually
- opportunities for advancement based on performance and experience
