JOB DESCRIPTION: MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
CLASSIFICATION: FULL TIME OR PART TIME; NON-EXEMPT

The Foundation of Shalom Park (FSP) is a 54-acre campus, non-profit foundation whose mission is to manage Shalom Park facilities and resources on behalf of a multi-institution Jewish Community. FSP exists to create a safe and healthy environment for all. FSP has expanded their business support to Shalom Park institutions, resulting in increased operational complexity.

GENERAL STATEMENT
The Maintenance Technician will service all aspects of interior and exterior maintenance of commercial buildings. This position requires a solid understanding of maintenance principles and a high level of expertise.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Complete work orders, as assigned, in a timely manner, treating partners and employees with respect, courtesy, and professionalism
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems to ensure they operate efficiently and safely
Diagnosis, inspect and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and breakdowns to identify the root cause and implement repairs
Conduct repairs on mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems as well as other building infrastructure components
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities using management software until completed and closed.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines while performing maintenance activities
Assist in the training of junior technicians and provide guidance on best practices and safety protocols
Manage and track inventory of spare parts, tools and equipment needed for maintenance and repairs
Experience with fire alarm systems, carpentry, painting, electrical and plumbing systems
Notify supervisor when inventory supplies need restocking
Be willing to work some pre-planned nights and weekends
Participate in certain department meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS
Prefer three years trade school program or equivalent experience
Understanding in all the following trades: electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, painting, appliance, lock, and motor repair
Proficiency using hand and power tools as well as diagnostic equipment
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues and implement solutions
Strong awareness of safety protocols
Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
Effective communication and interaction with management team, partners, subordinates, vendors, or contractors, sufficient to exchange or convey information, reporting issues, documenting work and collaborating with team members
Ability to work independently within a team environment
Universal EPA certification preferred
Dedication to working hard, being on time, and staying organized
Maintain a Valid NC Driver License with a good driving record
Basic computer skills (able to operate mobile device, PC)
Be available for regular work assignments, emergency calls, and work scheduled off-hours and emergency overtime as needed
