Job Overview:
Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential buildings. They work with wiring, lighting, electrical controls, and other components to ensure safe and efficient electrical functionality. This role involves both troubleshooting existing systems and contributing to new construction projects.
Responsibilities:
Installation and Repair:
- Install or replace wiring, lighting fixtures, electrical controls, and other electrical devices in residential properties.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
- Repair and replace equipment, wiring, and fixtures as needed.
Blueprints and Technical Diagrams:
-Understand and apply blueprints and technical diagrams to guide installation and repair work.
Compliance:
- Adhere to National Electrical Code (NEC) guidelines and state/local building regulations.
Quality Checks:
- Perform quality checks to ensure proper installation and safety.
Documentation:
- Complete work orders on time.
- Document the work completed and materials used.
Collaboration:
- Work with other electricians, general contractors, architects, and team members.
Client Communication:
- Communicate with clients to establish job details and related costs.
Requirements:
- At least 7 years of documented experience as a residential electrician.
- Solid working knowledge of commercial and residential electrical systems.
- Ability to read blueprints and troubleshoot and fix electrical issues.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently and carry heavy tools.
- Comfortable working in attics and crawl spaces.
