MCCSis a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community.Weoffer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively.As a service-oriented organization, we never waver in our commitment to our Corps.This position is located at theCHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER.Candidates selected for this position will serve as aOFFICE AUTOMATION CLERK.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs a combination of record keeping, reporting and liaison (family and program) duties inone or more CYP component. These tasks are summarized below.RECORD KEEPING AND REPORTING:Prepares and maintains assigned correspondence, office files, records, statistical and financialdata pertaining to CYP components (CDC, SAC, FCC and YP). Prepares required daily, weeklyand monthly reports in compliance with reporting policies and procedures and ensuressubmission in a timely manner. Ensures required child registration and enrollment paperwork iscurrent and complete. Provides required information to requesting agencies. Operatestechnology, associated office equipment and a wide variety of software programs to produce acorrespondence, spreadsheets, charts, reports and graphic materials. Proos preparedcorrespondence and checks for accuracy. Conducts research of files and records in order toresolve discrepancies. Notifies supervisor of discrepancies, to include any issues/ problems thatcannot be resolved. Organizes flow of operational program processes in an office environment.LIAISON WITH FAMILIES AND PROGRAMS:Provides front desk coverage and logs participants in and out of the facility. Informs and answersquestions regarding programs and services, patron financial obligations, waiting lists, events, andpolicies and procedures. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks forsatisfaction on the quality of provided services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Takestelephone calls and responds to inquiries, referring calls to supervisor or other personnel asappropriate. Performs assigned resource and referral duties and assists in maintaining currentwaitlist is needed. Understands and articulates policies relating to patron fees, waiting lists, andprogram events. Alerts supervisor or proper point of contact for assistance as needed.FEES AND SUPPLIES:Oversees administrative management of the reception area to include the operation of anautomated record and payment system. Collects fees, administers charges, and records paymentsin accordance with proper procedures. Notifies supervisor of delinquent payments. Completes adaily activity report and ensures proper deposit of funds in accordance with established cashhandling procedures. Receives annual cash handling training from local Human Resource Office.Responsible for monitoring front desk supplies and resources; notifying supervisor of items to bereplenished.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Performs other duties asassigned. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.Serves as a mandatory reporter to Family Advocacy and Child Protective Services as prescribedby policy in the case of suspected incidences of child abuse and neglect.QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum one year of experience in the operation of a computer and related office automationequipment. Knowledge of a variety of integrated software programs. Knowledge of generalclerical procedures.Must be able to obtain and maintain TIER-1 Child Care (CNACI) background checks which arerequired for positions that involve working with children un er 18 years of age. Must pass a pre[1]employment physical and annual physicals thereafter, provide evidence of immunization and befree from communicable disease. Must complete all DoD training requirements within thespecified time including orientation, initial, and annual ongoing training requirements, andrequired certifications, if any. Must maintain CPR and First Aid certifications. May be requiredto obtain a government driver's license and government purchase card. Ability to communicateeffectively in English, both orally and in writing, and possess strong interpersonalcommunication skills.
