The Position
The purpose of the position is to secure supply through high supplier performance & compliance to supply agreements for assigned material categories. This position is responsible for optimizing the Supply Chain for multiple production sites in API US Clayton, OFP Durham & BRD New Hampshire, through data analysis, stakeholder management, problem solving & execution of changes. Identified opportunities for operational improvements & seeks agreement through consensus management.

Essential Functions
Secures Supply
Manage supplier capacity by establishing & coordinating purchase forecasts & matching supplier capacities to Novo Nordisk future production demands
Manage supplier compliance to Novo Nordisk purchasing related requirements, including completion of supplier related change requests
Drive & contribute to supplier/supply risk management in the relevant sourcing categories
Identifies, establishes, designs & shares best practices
Influences Key Stakeholders
Collaborate & dialogue with users on system support & understanding
Communicates to Line of Business approved suppliers per category
Conducts consumption & forecast analysis & relevant analytical tasks to support & justify sourcing direction & related activity
Develops & prepares summary reports & presentations as required
Seeks out, builds, & maintains trusting & collaborative relationships & alliances with others inside & outside of the organization in ways that accomplish key business objectives; & helps others do the same
Manages Supplier Performance
Coordinate supplier audits (Quality & Responsible Sourcing) in cooperation with supplier audits & QA & participate in relevant audits
Drive coordination when crisis management is needed to ensure materials are timely delivered to production
Acts as a liaison between the line of business, appropriate internal stakeholders, & supplier to ensure business objectives are met
Monitor & drive supplier performance for the suppliers in terms of supplier adherence to agreements, supplier delivery on time, supplier quality performance
Dialogues with suppliers to ensure optimal relationship with respect to delivery performance
Driving category optimization projects across the inbound supply chain to increase competitive advantage of Novo Nordisk supply chain
Partner with internal customers
Understands broad organizational perspectives & delivers messages & presentation to various stakeholders to gain consensus for tactical initiatives & ideas, in the face of complexity or disagreement

Physical Requirements
Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. (% can change on a case-by-case basis based on the role.)
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field required or Minimum (10) years plus Supplier Management experience considered in lieu of bachelor’s degree. Obtained MBA a plus.
Minimum of (6) years progressively responsible experience within supply chain, supplier management, key account management, purchasing or logistics required
Raw Material Supplier Management &/or purchasing experience preferred
Experience from the pharmaceutical industry or other regulated industries a plus
Project Management experience a plus
Proficient with PCs, Microsoft Office Suite required
Extensive experience in supplier collaboration & management of cross-organizational supply optimization projects preferred
Strong knowledge of Project Management Methodologies, Processes & Purchasing practices preferred
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in SAP or equivalent preferred
Ability to translate technical information into operational actions preferred
Demonstrated experience in practical problem solving & process improvement methods a plus
Project Management Tools, Ariba or other eSourcing & contracts management systems a plus
Knowledge of US, EU regulations & guidelines, & application of GMP’s a plus
Experience planning, organizing, managing execution, checking results, & revising work plans preferred
Strong communication skills across multiple organizational levels preferred
Experience with capacity management, purchase forecasts & matching supplier capacities with production demands preferred
