We boldly go.Job Summary:The Federal R&D Contract Manager for our Trane Technologies’ Advanced Technologies Organization is a key member of our Project Management Team and will be responsible for managing Federally-funded R&D projects to ensure excellent project execution in compliance with all Federal Regulations and Trane Technologies’ processes and policies. In this role you will report to the Project Management Office (PMO) Leader.This role will work a hybrid schedule out of our Davidson, NC campusResponsibilities:
Manage Federally-funded R&D projects and ensure compliance with all Federal and Trane Technologies’ policies
Responsible for contract and project management from award to completion
Maintain advanced knowledge of federal regulations (FAR/DEAR/DoD/2CFR Parts 200 and 910) to ensure compliance of contract administration, financial systems, information systems, audit requirements, intellectual property, and reporting
Manage contract deliverables, risks and timing; utilize critical path management methodologies to manage schedule, scope and resource requirements.
Implement a contract communication plan with timely communication of contract status to all stakeholders
Build strong relationships with sponsors at all levels
Effectively collaborate and influence across functional teams to manage and reduce risk through effective compliance actions, standard work implementation and audit verification
Lead standard work creation and improvement initiatives using lean toolsB
Mentor, train and develop engineering, partnership and project management teams
Review project plans to determine a time frame, funding limitations, procedures for satisfying contracts, staffing requirements and the assignment of available departmental resources to various contract phases
Review/approve the work plan of an external service provider or consultancy contracted to execute the contract
Conduct risk assessment and mitigation
Monitor contract activities, ensuring the currency, quality and integrity of information, while providing consistency in content and “look and feel” across the organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Master’s degree preferred
5 yrs or more experience in Federal contract management with excellent knowledge of Federal regulations such as FAR/DEAR/DoD/ 2CFR Parts 200 and Part 910
Effective time and project management. Ability to prioritize and manage simultaneous tasks to meet deadline, quality and cost objectives within a changing, fast-paced environment
Advanced understanding of creating effective contract agreements while minimizing risk to the company
Advanced written and verbal communication skills; superior ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization, with governmental agencies and with vendors.
PMI/PMP Certification preferred.
Must be a US citizen
