Requisition ID: 16881Associate Referral Bonus Amount :0.00Employment Type: Part-TimeGrade: Non-exempt N7Job Category: Human Resources / Learning & DevelopmentWork Location: Davidson, NC (CSC)BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY: The Diversity and Inclusion (HR) Intern will provide strategic and process improvement support to our Human Resources function. You will work closely with team members to streamline processes, provide project management for various initiatives, and support our communication efforts by creating content that tells the MSC story to potential new hires and existing associates through social media, connects our remote workforce through internal channels, and bolsters a culture of inclusion across our audience. Day to day this includes developing videos, website copy, playbooks/messaging, micro-learnings, and more. We’re looking for someone with a creative mindset, strong writing skills, and a fresh approach. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan, execute, and complete special project(s) as assigned. Support Communication Strategy by researching and developing D&I content for internal and external stakeholders. Such as:

Drafting stories for the company’s external and internal news portals.

Using social media channels to engage audiences and potential new hires.

Developing presentations for external and internal use.

Supporting company events.

Supporting Community relations through process improvement.

Gains industry knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments.

Develops skills needed for career in industrial distribution.

Supports assigned manager with business project work.

Presents intern project results to business leaders.

Perform independent research.

Provide business assistance to various groups within the Human Resources departments.

Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.

Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma required.

Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university. Working towards a degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business, or English

Excellent academic record.

SKILLS:

Proficient use of Microsoft Office software required.

Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management is required.

Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

Excellent time management and organizational skills required.

Positive, high-energy approach to assignments and a growth mindset with the willingness to learn quickly required.
