They will work with all relevant stakeholders, sales, suppliers, and operational support teams to execute and deliver those merchandising views as well as support the full product offering that those plans represent. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Owns the merchandising view of the product assortment including governance to drive profit and customer conversion/growth · Supports the item lifecycle management of the Product Assortment determined by the Category Manager: o New item induction – induction, addition to merchandising platforms
o Phase outs and Replacement items – substitutions, alternates, complimentary items
o Customer specific item management (QIA graduation)
o Cross reference – competitive part numbers· Responsible for creating the data model and governance strategy for the assortment they support. Owns the taxonomy, schema and attribute configurations for their respective product lines · Determines the product title structure and required features and benefits for the series and items within merchandising groups. · Develops the product family groupings and “table view” templates to meet customer expectations · Reviews product advertising/views for all print publications and web within respective product group(s) to ensure the items are presented clearly to the customer in order to maximize the effect of advertising, sales growth, reduce the need for further questions and minimize credits. · Owns the continual review and maintenance of the product assortment data accuracy and completeness and partners with various stakeholders including suppliers and product information specialists to rework copy, specs, technical information, pics, line art among other values to drive enhancements based on the strategy of the product line. · Works with suppliers to collect media neutral data so that new and existing items are represented effectively in all media including e-com, print, and digital. · Supports the review of various customer facing marketing and data elements as used in pricing updates, customer promotions, marketing materials, eCommerce AB testing, sales enablement, to name a few. · Responsible for continual monitoring and adjusting the merchandising view utilizing various analytics to drive high customer conversion and margin improvement. · Works cross-functionally with key internal stakeholders across category management, sales, suppliers, marketing, digital, inventory management, and operational support teams. · Understands and implements respective product line strategies through all market channels and vehicles. · Works with Category Manager to help identify and bring to life new skus/items · Feeds relevant market data such as module performance, competitor pricing, etc. back to category management. · Under the guidance of their manager, the Merchandising Manager will conduct competitive analysis, make recommendations and identify improvement areas in sell price strategy · Periodically dedicates time to support and engage sales teams in activities such as (but not limited to) sales ride-alongs, support on account visits, and educational exercises to sales teams relevant to product line strategy etc. · Uses appropriate tools to engage and disseminate relevant information to sales channels · Responsible for formulating field communication and updates as they relate to product lines. · Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose. · Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required QUALIFICATIONS What You Need: · Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing or the equivalent related work experience is required. · Minimum of three years of related experience required. · Product development experience required (Examples: identification of new products, competitive analysis, value to customer, sell price strategy etc.) · Marketing and advertising campaign development experience required (Examples: catalog layout, web, print media, promotional advertising, supplier interaction etc.) · Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. · Strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously are required. · Strong organizational skills are required. · Strong PC skills are required. · Excellent mathematical and analytical skills are required. · Negotiation skills required Bonus Points If You Have: · Working knowledge of industrial products preferred Other Requirements: · A valid driver’s license is required. · Position requires up to 10% of travel · This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”) INDICATES ESSENTIAL DUTIES To perform this job successfully an associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
