The Title III Programs office is responsible for managing three grants from the Department of Education: HBCU, Part B, FUTURE Act, Part F, and HBGI, totaling an average of $12,000,000 per year. This office needs a staff member who will serve as financial manager and authoritative expert to grantees regarding tracking, monitoring, and use of grant funds; internal control systems; financial policies; and sound fiscal management practices.Primary Purpose of PositionThe primary purpose of this position will serve as Accountant and authoritative expert to grantees regarding tracking, monitoring, and use of grant funds; internal control systems; financial policies; and sound fiscal management practices.Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesThe person should be able to assist with or have full responsibility for the establishment of long-term and short-term goals and objectives and the formulation of accounting programs and policies and provide leadership in the development of control guidelines and accounting programs in financial, program operation, systems, or other areas.Minimum Education/ExperienceAny combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred), in business administration, public administration, with course work in finance, accounting, budget analysis, or a related field, plus five years of progressive and responsible professional experience relevant to the position, and one year of accounting or finance work experience.
