Institute for Medical Research at the Durham VA Health Care System Senior Recruiter Administrative Office The Institute for Medical Research, (IMR), an affiliate of the Durham VA Healthcare System is a private nonprofit 200+ employee organization that supports research and education at the Durham Veterans Affairs Health Care System (DVAHCS). IMR is seeking to hire a Recruiter. The Senior Recruiter will be responsible for centralizing the hiring and selection of top talent by providing full life cycle recruitment for all levels of clinical, CRO-type positions. This role will be responsible for building talent pipelines, implementing new technologies and managing IMR’s social media presence for recruitment purposes. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, capable of delivering results quickly within a fast-paced environment and possess exceptional follow-up and problem-solving skills. This position requires a high degree of organization, accuracy, and attention to detail. This position is located in beautiful downtown Durham inside of the historic Legacy Towers (formerly the NC Mutual Insurance Company building). This position is hybrid (1-2 days in office and 2-3 days remote) Candidates must reside or be willing to relocate within commuting distance of Durham, NC. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years of full-cycle recruitment experience
Prior experience recruiting within a CRO and/or health sciences organization preferred
Prior experience managing ATS/recruitment technologies
Hands-on experience sourcing candidates using different strategies and social media platforms
Working knowledge of HR/employment law needed to ensure compliance
Skills:
Proven ability to use HRIS, ATS and social media technology platforms
Goal-oriented, analytical thinker who can analyze, interpret, present and act upon data
Demonstrated track record of sourcing passive candidates, building and maintaining talent pipelines under tight recruiting deadlines
Ability to communicate in a clear, positive customer focused manner
Strong collaborative/facilitative style conducive to influencing without authority
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook
Highly self-motivated and driven to get things done
Ability to work independently and as part of the team
Ability to cultivate great relationships with hiring managers, team members and candidates
Ability to research, understand, and communicate HR policies & practices and employment laws
Ability to identify priorities, plan workflow and sequence assignments to maximize effectiveness
Demonstrated ability to exercise professional discretion when handling confidential information
Excellent interpersonal and communication
Specific tasks will include:
Recruiting Responsibilities
Lead IMR recruitment plans, activities and initiatives
Coordinate and maintain IMR and VA employment screenings in a timely and accurate manner
Review job descriptions for accuracy and completeness prior to posting
Apply effective sourcing techniques to identify qualified candidates
Engage in social media and relationship building with potential industry resources
Post position advertisements to targeted job boards and relevant industry sources
Screen resumes and applications
Conduct phone, in-person and virtual interviews and reference checks
Extend verbal and written offers
Train and coach hiring managers and supervisors on hiring & interviewing
Maintain and provide system and employment-related trainings
Assist the HR Director in the completion of government, regulatory, and compliance reporting
Assist with other projects as needed
