As part of the team, you will have access to an unparalleled network of resources and endless opportunities to collaborate on exciting projects with diverse teammates from across the globe.This OpportunityWSP is seeking a registered Professional Engineer with solid waste permitting, design, and construction experience to lead existing Coal Combustion Residual (CCR) landfill projects; Geotechnical, site civil, water resources, and project management experience is also desirable. The ideal candidate will be experienced managing projects, capable at leading teams, and able to build trust with clients and contractors. Engineering design and production skills including developing drawings, specifications, design reports, and bid documents is required.Your ImpactKey Responsibilities:The successful candidate will join WSP's Civil Engineering team to lead, work with, and mentor our solid waste, site civil, and water resources engineers. Duties will include all facets of managing projects, and the following responsibilities:
Leading and completing engineering analyses
Supervising and checking work performed by junior engineers and technicians
Preparing and controlling the quality of construction documents, specifications, and opinions of probable construction costs
Preparing permit applications
Overseeing construction quality assurance and certifying construction activities
Interacting with and managing clients and contractors
Interacting with regulatory agencies
Building trust and relationships with existing clients leading towards developing new business with those clients
Writing proposals and reports
Some travel/field work may be required
Who You AreRequired Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
10+ years of experience in solid waste design
North Carolina Professional Engineering certification
Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision and oversight
Team player, with abilities to organize and complete various assignments at once
Competency in the areas of technical knowledge, office/field supervision, and project management
Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to manage staff and projects
Experience preparing and/or supervising the production of construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D
Experience with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera P6
Preferred Qualifications
Masters Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field
Knowledge of Federal CCR Rules and experience with North Carolina solid waste regulations
Experience with CCR surface impoundments
