SummaryMajor online educator is looking to hire a Site Reliability Engineer. The team is expanding due to increased demand for the platform. The company has recently migrated their applications from an on-prem data center to a multi-cloud environment (Azure and AWS). In this role, you will work alongside software engineering, rapid response, and incident management teams to create highly redundant and scalable systems in the AWS and Azure clouds. An ideal candidate will have skills within cloud, DevOps, and database administration. Description:Qualifications - Desired Experience: 5+ years of experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on AWS platforms with a database focus. Experience with Enterprise scaled deployments of Microsoft SQL Server or Postgres. Advanced understanding of the following AWS Services; RDS, EC2, Cloudwatch, Lambda, FSx, S3. Understanding of database performance optimization, backups, and disaster recovery methods. Infrastructure as Code - CloudFormation or Terraform. Experience automating database administration tasks and services with T-SQL, PowerShell, Python, and/or similar programming languages. Experience with the Linux and Windows Server Operating Systems. Strong understanding and experience with the five pillars of well-architected frameworks. Experience in monitoring cloud-based systems using tools like NewRelic, CloudWatch, Datadog, etc. Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks. Familiarity with agile software development lifecycle. – Jira. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools like Git. Experience in designing, analyzing, and solving large-scale distributed database systems. Strong Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in a cloud environment. Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive. Experience building CI/CD pipelines – w/ Azure Devops and GitHub.Desired Skills:Cloud, Aws, Database administrator, Azure, Sql server, Performance tuning, SqlDesired Qualifications: AWS Solution Architect Associate certification is desirable.
