worker. This position is responsible for vehicle/equipment upkeep
and for facility infrastructure support and maintenance.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the
Coast Guard team.Typical work assignments include:
Measuring, cutting, consructing, installing, repairing, and
modifying wood, and wood substitute items where specific fit and
accuracy are within allowable limits to produce a serviceable
product.
Applying general knowledge of wood, composite materials, wood
substitutes, and woodworking techniques, as well as basic shop
mathematics to plan, measure, and lay out materials.
Performing routine maintenance, overhaul, and repair of standard
types of mechanical locking devices.
Preparing surfaces by methods such as sanding and wire brushing;
Painting by standard coating methods such as Brushing, rolling,
and spraying.
Removing old roofing in preparation for repair and installing
roofs.
Operating grass cutting mowers and farm-type tractors with
attached equipment to maintain grounds, and performing operator
maintenance on tractors and equipment.
