Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Die Setter - 2nd Shift at our Fayetteville, NC site!Shift Hours: 2:30pm - 11:00pm Monday - FridayThe hourly rate for this position is $20.00 per hour, plus a $1/hour increase for 2nd Shift Differential.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:Set up and operate punch press machines using multiple progressive automatic dies and automatic feed equipment. Operate other steel fabrication equipment as assigned. Direct and assist co-workers in operation of presses and fabrication of parts on a repetitive and non-repetitive basis. May direct the press operation duties of other Fabricator/ Operators and/or Die-Setters.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform work from manufacturing information, bills of material, written and/or oral instructions.
Utilize manufacturing information, determine necessary parts/inventory, jigs/fixtures, and obtain materials from stock areas.
Provide assistance to lower - level sheet metal fabricators / operators in performance of their duties as required.
Deliver material to/from work stations using material handling equipment, position work material on coil cradle / feeder. Ensure correct parts and matching documentation reach next process in a timely fashion.
Complete necessary preparation work such as wiping, degreasing, de-burring, or grinding of components.
Pick up and place scrap in appropriate containers. Documentation / record keeping may be required.
Operate punch presses and other metal-fabrication equipment as directed. Inspect parts periodically or as directed utilizing manufacturing information such as drawings / blueprints, make necessary adjustments as required. Keep accurate piece count and other applicable records. Inform Supervisor of any quality problems.
Transport die for installation and calibration using forklift.
Maintenance of equipment such as punches, dies, hydraulic clamping systems, material feeder systems, oiling/greasing, machine settings, changing of tooling, and minor adjustments may be necessary. Complete necessary maintenance check sheets and inform Supervisor and / or Maintenance personnel of any problems.
Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly fashion; keeping oil deposits off of floor.
Observe all health/hygiene and safety policies as directed and specified.
Dismantle previous set-ups after termination of order. Move dies to tool room if sharpening or maintenance is required.
Adjust all presses with power and / or automatic feeds at initial set-up and during production.
Clear jams and malfunctions. Administer trial runs and first-part inspection.
Accountable for proper operation and placement of all safety-related equipment during set-up, operator briefing and production.
Qualifications:Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED)
Must reside within a 50 mile radius of Fayetteville, NC. Active Duty military are exempt from the geographical requirement
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with machine operation
Previous experience with operating a punch press machine
Position Criteria:
Demonstrated proficiency with drawings and/or blueprints.
Able to drive a forklift and obtain forklift certification.
