The Material Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and expediting flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisors' priorities. ResponsibilitiesThis position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

Works with a framework of established supply regulations, policies, and procedures and in the resolution of issues encountered in the process.

Must have knowledge of GCSS-A system to assist with customer requirements

Confers with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue and to acquire material.

Requisitions material and establishes delivery sequences to departments according to support requirements and anticipate availability of material.

Compile report of quantity and type of material on hand.

Move or transport material from one department to another, using hand or industrial truck.

May compile perpetual production records in order to locate material in process of production, using manual or computerized system.

Maintain accountability of hazardous material to provide to customer units in support of daily operations.

Ensures compliance with all properly authenticated directives within established guidelines.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).

Must maintain a Valid Driver’s License.

Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.

Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Liberty Military Installation.

Must be able to pass a pre-employee drug screen.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.

EXPERIENCE:

3 years of supply operations/ logistical experience

Must have experience and moderate knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in Supply Procedure.

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access preferred.

SKILLS:

Must have comprehensive knowledge of the applicable supply and logistical coordination processes, related regulation, and is required to ensure an effective approach to resolving issues of logistical concern.

Ability to prioritize, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and interact at all levels.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; ability to work in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.

Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.

Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, perform with a high degree of accuracy and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
