Summary About the Position: USASOC Enterprise Guard Force, Fort Liberty, North Carolina. Fort Liberty is a culturally diverse area with both rural and city populations, co-located at Fayetteville, North Carolina, centrally located in the beautiful state of North Carolina, which enjoys a temperate year-round climate and world-renowned colleges and universities. Fayetteville is centrally located between the beautiful beaches and the scenic Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains. Responsibilities Presents the security orientation to command personnel and develops manning and budget requirements with the Chief of the commands, Guard Force. Uses subordinate supervisors and leads to direct, coordinate and oversee the security guard force and associated work at multiple facilities and across multiple shifts. Supervise the activities of a guard force over two or more facilities/sites, on rotating shifts within the US Army Special Operations Command. Conduct access control and limited law enforcement operations to ensure the maintenance of physical security standards are maintained. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience with a federal, state, municipal, local, or private protective organization which includes the following: 1. Plan the activities of a security guard force shift, performing access control operations; 2. Administer training and guidance to ensure personnel are equipped to protect against threats to property and personnel; 3. Perform supervisory and administrative duties related management of a security guard force. 4.) Grants access to those individuals that have met screening requirements and demonstrate a need to access the area. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). Competition for Security Guard positions is restricted by law to persons entitled to veterans' preference as long as such applicants are available for appointment. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Access Control Operations Attention to Detail Leadership Oral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
