Procurement Specialist

Description Robert Half has partnered with a growing distribution company in Garner, NC, to assist them in hiring a Procurement Specialist. This is a newly created onsite permanent position. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of procurement experience, ideally in the food and beverage space. The primary focus of this role is to manage purchasing operations, oversee inventory tracking, and enhance supply chain efficiency. This role involves strategic decision-making, ensuring optimal inventory stocking, and collaborating with vendors and suppliers to secure advantageous terms.Responsibilities Analyze and optimize the current buying systems and propose the best methods for daily purchasing operations. Evaluate current purchasing trends and forecast future needs to ensure a well-stocked inventory. Develop and implement effective tracking systems for optimal inventory management. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate and secure advantageous terms. Review vendor bids critically to ensure competitive pricing and the best value for each purchase. Monitor and predict upcoming levels of demand for efficient planning. Review purchase orders meticulously for accuracy and completeness. Conduct regular price comparisons among various suppliers. Prepare and present analytical reports on purchasing activities and inventory status. Utilize skills in Purchasing Strategies, Purchasing Management, Purchasing Functions, Purchasing Activities, Inventory forecasting, Inventory Planning & Reporting, Inventory Reconciliation, SAP, Microsoft Excel, and Corporate Procurement to optimize supply chain processes.Requirements Must hold at least 2 years of experience in a Procurement Analyst role or similar Proficiency in Purchasing Strategies, Purchasing Management, Purchasing Functions, and Purchasing Activities Demonstrable experience in Inventory forecasting, Inventory Planning & Reporting, and Inventory Reconciliation Expertise in using SAP for procurement activities Proficient in Microsoft Excel Knowledge in Corporate Procurement practices and strategies Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field is preferred Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills Strong communication skills Ability to work independently and in a team environmentRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
