We are seeking 8-10 individuals to participate in a jury decision-making project (Focus Group) in ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, North Carolina. You will be paid $100 cash. The focus group will occur in person at a law firm in Downtown Monroe, NC, on TUESDAY, January 16, 2024. It will begin at 6 p.m.; the focus group will last approximately 2.5 - 3 hours.
Participants will listen to and evaluate brief presentations of an actual lawsuit filed in Rockingham County. Our intention is for you to provide feedback on the information given about the case. Everyone who has participated in these projects reports them to be extremely interesting, enjoyable, and worthwhile.
You must be able to attend in person and show an NC I.D., showing you live in Rockingham County, NC. You do not need any special qualifications or expertise to participate; you only need the ability to listen to both sides of a dispute and discuss your opinions on the case. To participate, you must be able to speak, hear, read, and write English without assistance. Candidates cannot be currently on-call or selected for jury duty or have participated in a jury research focus group within the last two years.
