Seeking a dependable and professional Habilitation Technician to work in a residential setting with adult males. Must be available for weekend and weekday shifts.
Education Requirements: Must have at least a high school diploma. Must be able to read and write in English. College degree in developmental disabilities, human services, social work, mental health or similar majors is a plus.
Qualifications: Must have a valid driver's license, current personal vehicle insurance, dependable transportation, and a clean criminal background. Experience in a related field or working with people with developmental disabilities is a plus.
People with the following certifications are strongly encouraged to apply: CPR and First Aid, medication administration, person-centered planning training, NC Interventions, OSHA bloodborne pathogens training, clients rights, assurance and confidentiality, seizure management, special population and documentation of records.
Responsibilities:
1. Assumes all responsibilities for total care and supervision of people with disabilities
2. Must maintain proper driving credentials and transport people served into the community for various activities.
3. Assure proper administration of all medication and proper documentation
4. Teach self-help and socialization skills to persons served
5. Assure help with all necessary personal care of persons served
6. Prepare simple meals for persons served
