As a Para Professional, you will be responsible for creating a therapeutic and nurturing home environment for our clients in a group home setting. The goal of the position is to maintain a safe, secure atmosphere conducive to the client's growth and change. Also, to coordinate documentation of an intervention and the effectiveness of the intervention, as well as the time spent working on goals. This includes teaching daily and independent living skills, mentoring, and promoting community integration.
General Responsibilities
Ability to plan and engage the client in activities
Demonstrate decision-making, organizational, and communication skills, both oral and written, including attention to detail
Ability to form therapeutic relationships with clients
Ability to work with patience and understanding. Absolutely No negativity.
Knowledge of group dynamics preferred
Essential Job Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Maintain a professional appearance
Competency in reading, writing, and the ability to understand and follow directions.
Have no substantiated findings of abuse or neglect listed on the North Carolina Health Care Personal Registry
Participation in all setup training
Valid driver's license required
